from the NECA to the NESCT Scholarship Funds. 

The New England Coatings Association (NECA) recently made a donation to The New England Society for Coatings Technology (NESCT). This donation was made on Wednesday night March 4th, 2009 at the Incontro Restaurant in Franklin Ma.  Due to the long term reduction in the number of local coatings manufacturers and suppliers, and the inability to financially and actively support this long standing honorable group, a decision was made to dissolve all assets of the formal organization. In so doing it was determined by the active participants that the NECA desired to transfer the entirety of their financial interest ($1,700.00)  to the New England Society for Coatings Technology for the purpose of supporting the scholarship funds of  NESCT. 

The NECA will be honored during the annual NESCT Golf Tournament in June.  This industry has ties that genuinely need to be preserved. Regardless of focus, Technical, Manufacturing, or Management,  we would like to express our appreciation to those founders who joined together 125 years ago in New England to formally build the foundation for a organized Association of like minded manufacturers.  The more recent members continue to support this much needed and under appreciated industry and we would like to ask those members of the NECA to bring their historical documents and photographs to the event to share with our own fellowship.
